Day 2

It’s funny - A little over a month ago I posted that I felt I would have a cold the next morning. It was about 11:30 last night when I was finishing setting up 4.0 that I felt that same feeling again.

Two colds in two months is probably not that good.

I really thought I had escaped this one. Trina’s whole family had it in one way or another and I thought that if I had contracted it it would have hit me last friday, instead it waited an entire week, which was probably good because I was out friday night ( Happy Birthday Josh btw, your present is waiting ). I ended up taking an hour off work today because I honestly felt that I wouldn’t have made it if I had had to drive at 4pm this afternoon.

The majority of people I know that read this depend on livebookmarks to tell when it’s updated. So with the new system ( and new RSS location ) I wonder how long it will be before people get sick of “Feed failed to load” and actually come have a look.

Anywho - It’ll give me time to get my gallery up and running.

Shooting myself in the foot.

I wanted to change something with the banner image on the page, which would involve recreating the “platinumweaver.net” image that sits half in and half out of the banner.

Only, in my infinite stupidity it seems that once again I have forgotten to write down what font I have used. I was certain that when I created it I remembered all the other times when I had to search ( often in vain ) to find the correct font from the time before that.

I am a fool.

Incidently, if anyone knows the name of the font I used… yeah… feel free to let me know..

Go see it.

If you don’t enjoy it I’ll buy you a frosted chocolate milkshake.

’nuff said.

Having trouble logging in…

It seems that every week Blizzard has this issue where some players have trouble logging into the game, we may seelong delays at the Authenticating, Handshaking or Connecting stages.

More often than not, it happens on a monday or tuesday my time, just before the weekly mainenance, which makes me wonder what would happen if they skipped the maintenance one week.

I get the feeling that perhaps the whole game would fall over.
Doesn’t that sound less like maintenance and more like planned emergency repairs?

Blizzard takes in approximately Sixty Million US dollars each month from subscriptions. I would expect they would realise it is in the their best interests to work out what causes the servers to fall over like this and do something about it.
