Damon

I’m a bit of a fan of Matt Damon…

I’ve liked all the stuff I’ve seen him in, which I’ll admit is not all that much.

I just saw him on ‘Enough Rope’ with Andrew Denton..
I dont know about anyone else, but when I’m watching an interview with a star I’m a fan of and I haven’t seen them being interviewed before, I worry that they’ll say something or do something so out of line with my preconceived notions of who they are, that I spend most of the time shuddering.
Anyway.. Saw this interview tonight and came out of it liking him even more.

Not the best Q&A, but that last one and therefore the one that has stuck in my head was Andrew Denton asking Matt Damon about what his personal experiences were during 9/11.
After talking about being up to look u p at the towers from where he was, he described a feeling as though the entire city was under attack, as though ‘the sky was falling’.

He also expressed dissapointment at how badly the situation was managed after the event, saying that it was a chance to unite and come together that was squandered and.. that he doesn’t think that ‘he’ could have done any worse than he did.

The last statement just seemed like an honest, off the cuff response to a question, and not the cautious, studied, rehearsed and scripted replies to similar questions that I’ve heard from shows like David Letterman’s tonight show..
