Trina and I made dinner last night for some friends of ours, I made the main meal and she made the dessert. I made a creamy chicken pasta and she made chocolate fudge brownies or something like that.
I’m not much for entertaining people at home, but I really enjoyed the evening, dinner was fun and friendly and then everyone started drinking.
I drank too much, I know that now.. I think having a few drinks while cooking, then a couple of glasses of wine during dinner ( which I normally dont drink ), then getting into Vodka & OJ ( which doesn’t seem like drinking at all ), really starts to add up.
Right now I should be getting ready to leave, packing, washing and drying clothes, cleaning out my car, stuff like that. Totally cannot be bothered though.

< Call Center Chick > Hi, Do you remember Client X from this morning?
< Me > *remembers annoying client* Yeah… I remember
< CCC > Well I have him on the line at the moment. Apparently he thinks that his Router is setup incorrectly. He thinks that the laptop should be able to connect directly to the internet.
< Me > Well it was all working when I left. The DSL modem was plugged into the WAN port of the Router, the desktop computer was plugged into the Ethernet port and the laptop was connecting via a Wireless LAN.
< CCC > Okay, it’s just that you’re saying one thing, and he’s saying another. Is there any possibility that you could go out there right now and fix this
< Me > Absolutely no way at all. *pause* Hang on.. What did you say was wrong with the setup?
< CCC > Well the customer says that when they disconnect the modem from the router they cant get on the internet with the laptop.
< Me > Umm.. if they’re disconnecting the modem from the network, how are they expecting to get online… You know, you need a modem to get online…
< CCC > Nevermind, I’ll see if ‘Bob’ the tech support guy can call them back and work it out.
This is at 5:30PM. They know I dont work after six, they employ other people who want to work outside of normal business hours.
Also, we dont support Wireless networks or non peer-to-peer networks on the certificate the guy had, there was nothing forcing me to set the network up in the first place.
Also, have a think about what the client is telling you. He wants to connect to the internet after he’s removed his modem, well shit, I don’t think that’ll work.
Also, for fuck sake, there is a guy on the helpdesk 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. He gets paid to do over the phone work. I applied for the extra work to do this and they said they had it covered, so stop fucking asking me.
Thank Christ I don’t have to deal with them for three weeks after tomorrow.
