Okay, I’m almost over Canada.
Oh, dont get me wrong, I really really like the place. I think I could happily live in perhaps one or two of the cities I have visited, but as far as this holiday goes, it’s almost over and I’m glad.
Back in Vancouver now, which is why I’ve replied to more than one comment, sent more than one comment, and not worked up a sweat trying to beat the clock to keep ‘net costs down.
It actually feels quite appropriate this, coming back to BC where the trip started. I’ve had a great time, met up with some great friends and am glad I came, but I’ll be glad when I get home as well.
See everyone soon from my own computer, in my own room, in my own country.
There’ll be heaps of photos being put online too..

I’m safe and well in Banff now, having just had an interesting two day train trip from Vancouver to here on the ‘Rocky Mountaineer Railway’ which was really quite nice to travel.
We didn’t see all that much in the way of wildlife, but saw some truly lovely mountains and rivers and forests and all that stuff. So while I dont have any wildlife photos yet, I do have some nice landscape shots. Like the two that are hopefully below.

I say hopefully because it seems that my camera and my memorycard seem to have issues with each other and at least 17 or my photos are nothing more than corrupt JPEGs. I think I’ve traced the problem down to using a certain mode with certain options on the camera, but without free access to a PC I cant really test it. So I’ll keep taking photos and just hope that they work out.
That’s all for now.
See you soon all.
See you sooner, Murl

Ahoihoi!
Second last day in vancouver today. Tommorow we’re going over to Vancouver Island to have a look around, apparently it’s very nice over there, but a bloody large island. It’s a 2hr ferry ride, so that should be interesting…..
Did I mention that I dont travel very well?
Today we went up to Whistler, which is going to be sharing the 2010 Winter Olympics with Vancouver. It’s primarily a ski resort, which makes visiting it in summer a bit of a non-event. There were some pretty scenes though, and it was amusing to see people going down ski-routes on mountain-bikes.
As we’re busy for the next day, and then leaving Vancouver, I will probably not be online properly for a week or so, so if anyone has any important info, either send it via email before Monday ( AU time ) or via smoke signals after that.
Be good, be well.. good luck gil

Starbucks are everywhere…
I kind of knew this anyway but it never affected me, as although I enjoy a good cup of coffee, I really dont know what is good and what is bad.. i’m happy with instant most of the time. My family took me into one yesterday though and introduced me to Frappacinos (sp?) which is like coffee mixed with ice and a milkshake… very nice.. and such a sugar rush..
Gotta run.. going up a mountain today or somesuch nonsense..
