Cynicism in a black suede jacket

I now regret that I deleted the very first post I ever made here. It was purely a test and when I went through one of my many many database restructures of the early days, it was lost. This is a shame because one of the most important things I said there was what I believed this site would end up being. I believe I phrased it something along the lines of “neglected or full of sarcastic comments, maybe both”. It suits my mood tonight.

There’s no actual excuse I can use to justify this mood, but it is most definately there, which makes posting to anything as permanent, cachabled, savable and wide-spread as the internet a somewhat dangerous prospect.
Hence the couple of half-written replies to various boards and journals that have been hastily removed by a well-considered [ <- Back ] button.

One thing that I feel I must comment on is something I overheard on a show called “Harry’s Practice” here in AU, it’s a show that basically follows a well known veterinarian as he fixes broken ( mentally and physically ) animals. In this episode he visited the home of a young girl whom he described as being “very brave”.
Now I have no problem with that definition, and she may be brave, I personally dont know her and cannot speak to her character, but the good doctor’s justification for calling her brave was that she had lost her puppy in the most recent bushfires in Canberra.

That doesn’t make her brave, it makes her unfortunate.

This bugged me.. looking back, probably more than it should have…

On a happier note, I am looking at purchasing a nice jacket, perhaps black or tan suede. If anyone has any experience regarding such purchases ( do’s and donts ) please drop me a line.

Be Well
